The Rockies and Rollins Pass
Brilliant Drive- even better since it used to be the railroad that they then madeover into an unpaved road- the Vistas are wonderful and when you hit the penultimate- u see Needles Pass- its eponymous and very impassable by road- we hiked over the pass and it was ever so worth it!

I did something like that 3 years ago- drove from Michigan to California via these places...the pull is so strong that I finally decided to move to Denver just so I could keep revisiting these sights!
BTW- lets link our sites- good to talk to someone who gets it!
